You’re my favourite writer on this platform, and in a world where Medium’s "relational" algorithm works even half as good as they say it does, I would be seeing every one of your articles in my feed or via app notifications. But that hardly ever happens. I usually see your article like once every two weeks, then I have to manually go to your profile and update myself on the article I’ve missed within that time frame.

That being said, I’m still very new to writing. I have no personal blog or big email list, so it doesn’t really feel like I have any escape route, for now at least. I’ve been getting very few views since I started writing here, and to be honest, I’ve been having an internal debate as to whether that’s happening because my writing just isn’t good enough yet, or if I was unfortunate to enter the Medium game at a time when the gatekeepers are trying to damage writing careers with their arbitrary rules. Maybe the answer is a mixture of both.

For now though, all I can do is continue writing here, hoping that those at Medium will soon see the error in their ways.
